The story behind the Brand

My brand Exceptional Woman was created to help women like me who have overcome many obstacles and challenges to go after their wildest dreams and desires. My testimony is POWERFUL because I was given a second chance at life. I survived the odds by God's unmerited grace and mercy and His healing power. This second chance is personal to me. Now, it is my goal to encourage, inspire and motivate women to do what they think is impossible. 

 

Like many women I had big dreams but had given up on them once I reached my late thirties. I figured it was too late to go after them. I thought maybe I should just go back to school again, get the credentials needed to become a principal because at that point that was the only thing left to do as I had been a teacher and a literacy coach. I had no clue what was soon to come, (Opening of my own school.)

Although I gave up on my dreams, God had other plans for me. Let us rewind back about 6.5 years ago to revisit 2017.  I found out I was pregnant in Feb 2017. The first thing the Holy Spirit spoke to me was, "don’t even think about an abortion, you will go through with this pregnancy." I was scared, being 42 years old and my oldest daughter was 22 years old. All I could think about was having to start over again and that was too much for me, but God. I mean at that point I was able to come home and go to sleep after work if I pleased, no more helping with homework, having to cook if I didn't want to, let’s just say I was in the clear of parenting a young child. However, I decided to obey the voice of God. Obeying God does not mean you're going to be free of hardships, pain, struggle, worry, stress, or evening facing death. These was some of the things I had to deal with and go through in exchange for my yes to God and an increase of His Glory in me.

During the second and third trimesters of my pregnancy is when my yes  and trust in God really started to be tested. I found out I had pre-eclampsia and high blood pressure, so my doctor ordered me to stay off my feet. That not it when I was in labor, I had complication that led to me having to get a C section, but it didn't stop there after my incision was stapled within minutes, I started losing blood because an error that wasn't my fault that led to me losing 85% of my blood, and my kidneys failing as a result.  At that point I was, devastated in disbelief and most of all SCARED!! All I could do was turn to my faith and trust in God because I had nothing or no one who could save me but God. And I thank God still to this day for the many people He sent to me during that time to pray, encourage, strengthen, and remind me who God is. 

So... as a result of me losing so much blood I wand up having to received acute dialysis treatment 3 times a week. I was told I would receive the treatment for 4-6 months. I will never forget showing up at Davita Dialysis Center 2 days after being discharged from the hospital after spending 20 days in the hospital connected to me giving birth. I was admitted on 9/19/17, gave birth by way of c-section on 9/22/17. My first treatment at the center was on 10/10/17. Guess what happened as a result of Putting all my faith in God? GOD HEALED MY BODY IN A MATTER OF 2.5 weeks and not the 4-6 month the Dr. originally prescribed. YOU CAN'T TELL ME HE ISN'T REAL AND THAT HE ISN'T A HEALER!

When I look back on thos seasons of my life, I see that God was building character and preparing me for the season I’m in now. (An opened School!)  Although I wanted my school, I had to be made ready. You might not understand why it hasn't happened yet and why you got to go through what you go through but know this, God's timing and process is everything. The vision had become very clear to me in God's timing and through His process. See in the past I wanted to open a daycare center, but God had to first align me with the vision for my school through me going through His process, so just because you walked away or gave up on the dream or your desires don't mean God has.

Today Kendra Waller / I testify as the epitome of an exceptional woman because God and the exceptional women He birth me out through. My mother, Evelyn Waller and my late grandmother, Elsie Waller. Thank you because I could not imagine being all that I am without y'all.  A woman who holds many titles: mother, educator, motivator, encourager, inspirer, influencer, entrepreneur and exceptional woman! ~From one Exceptional woman to another go and be all of that exceptional woman God has destined you to be! ~
